Μέλη της κοινότητας μετέβησαν στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο των Δελφών για να διανείμουν φυλλάδια στους τουρίστες που κατακλύζουν τη χώρα μας για τον κίνδυνο που αντιμετωπίζει ο Ελληνικός αλλά και συνολικά ο Ευρωπαϊκός πολιτισμός. Ενθαρρυντικό το γεγονός ότι πολλοί τουρίστες από χώρες της κεντρικής και βόρειας Ευρώπης αναγνωρίζουν και οι ίδιοι το πρόβλημα επιβίωσης του Ευρωπαϊκού πολιτισμού και στήριξαν την πρωτοβουλία μας!
Civilizations do not come about by chance nor are they universal. They are the products of specific nations, of their constitution, of their values, of their worldview. The Hellenic and European Civilizations were created by the Hellenes and the Europeans for the Hellenes and the Europeans.
Another people could not have produced them and they cannot sustain them.
I) Our civilization is the impact of our forebears on the present, it represents our connection to our ancestors. The foreigner, correctly, does not feel any attachment to it; the men that built it and the men they built it for were never their ancestors.
II) The foreigner, correctly, does not care if it degenerates, if it is destroyed, if it stops influencing the life of the nation.
If Plato, Byrn, Dante, Molière, stop shaping national thought and custom, if they stop being taught in schools, the foreigner, correctly, does not care; they were never a part of their civilization.
III) The foreigner, correctly, does not respect our monuments, our artifacts; the people that built them are not their people, they are as important to them as a stranger’s house. For them they are but a pile of rocks, they hold no value other than a superficial beauty, and they have no qualms about vandalizing them, littering in them, profaning them.
The foreigner’s only “civilization” are the fragments they bring with them from their home country, as that is the only thing that can truly carry meaning for them. But for us, random pieces of foreign civilizations can carry no lasting meaning.
Out of a society of foreigners, it is impossible for civilization to arise or to be sustained. Out of a society of foreigners, only culture can arise, a mass culture, a mishmash of cultures.
Where there is no connection to a single past, to a single land, to a single people, there can only be a deracinated culture of the lowest common denominator, only that which is commonly called slop.
The Iliad gives way to rap music. Shakespeare gives way to the Avengers. Opera gives way to Netflix.
Take a look at the state of Europe around you and bring to mind the state of Europe 70, 200, 3000 years ago.
From the time of Homer and of the sublime ancient statues, our entire collective history is a history of creation. It is our destiny to create and to see our creations, by grace of their mastery, impose themselves on the World. The Hellenic and European Civilizations are the manifestations of the most perfect human genius and of the indomitable Hellenic and European Spirit. They must and they shall live on!
